Affordable Housing from the Unified Housing Foundation (UHF)

Amber Grant for Female Small Business Owners

If you have a small business that could use a little boost, apply for the Amber Grant. It is a program put on by Womens Net which awards one applicant with $1,000 each month. Pell Grant

For those who would like to attend college but can’t afford it right now, the Pell Grant may be able to help cover your costs. It is provided by the federal government and awards undergraduate students who have an exceptional financial need with money for school. The maximum amount for the 2018-2019 school year is $6,095. The amount you get depends on you student status (part-time or full-time), your plans to attend school for the full year, the cost of school for the year, and your annual income. Fresh Start Housing Assistance Programs

The Office of Commuity Care in Dallas, Texas has several Fresh Start Housing Programs which are designed to provide rental assistance and supportive services to people who are struggling to maintain their homes. If you find yourself without a place to stay or at-risk of losing your home, you can reach out to get help. The programs include:

1.Tenant Based Rental Assistance which can help to pay rent, deposits for utilities, and for supportive services for up to two years.

2.Emergency Solution Grant Essential Services (HESG) which help those in need to apply for the benefits they may qualify such as Medicaid, Medicare, WIC, Food Stamps, etc.

3.Project-based Voucher Assistance which can provide you with housing vouchers to pay rent. The program also offers support services which can help you with life skills, employment, education, and more.

4.HOPWA which helps people who have HIV/AIDS to find a home.
