It provides nutritional planning, healthy food, doctor recommendations, breast feeding support, and more to women who are pregnant, or have children under age five. MFIP Minnesota

Another great program coming out of Minnesota is the Family Investment Program. Qualifying low-income families can receive up to 60 months of both cash and food assistance. Pell Grant

When most people go to college for the first time, they apply or the Pell Grant, and there is a reason for that. Under the Pell Grant, undergraduate students attending public, and participating, colleges and universities, can receive up to $6,000 per school year. These benefits can be received, at maximum, for 12 years, and can only be spent on school-related things. Tuition is deducted from your grant first, and the rest is to be spent on books, fees, room and board, and even transport. Minnesotacare

This is a state program, focusing on providing health care coverage to those women, men, and children, who live in Minnesota and meet their requirements. Halstead Grant for Women

This grant competition is held every year for women who are working in the jewelry industry as emerging artists. The grant consists of $7,500 in cash prizes and another $1,000 in supplies. First place winners will also get a trip out to visit the Halstead Headquarters and tour around. The remaining top ten contestants will receive cash prizes as well, although smaller.
