Amber Grant for Female Small Business Owners

Are you a current or aspiring small business owner? The Amber Grant by Womens Net provides a grant of $1,000 each month to one lucky applicant. You can visit the website to submit an application. It does cost $15 to apply.

If you win, you are also entered into the running for a $10,000 grand prize grant at the end of the year. One of the year’s 12 winners will be chosen.

Seattle City Light: Assistance Program for Utility Costs

Having trouble paying for your electricity? No problem. You can access many programs that help right in your city. These include:

1.LIHEAP which is a federally funded program that can help you pay your utility bill during the winter.

2.Emergency Low Income Assistance (ELIA) which is for customers who have an urgent or shut off notice for $250 or more. The program will make the payment to avoid disconnection.

3.Project SHARE will pay up to $250 of a customer’s bill if they are in need.

4.HomeWise offers a weatherization program which will make improvements to your home to lower your bill for the future.

Lifeline Free Cell Phone

Are you unable to pay your cell phone bill? Lifeline provides one free cell phone per household that qualifies. There are many organizations with which you can apply and various cell phone plans/benefits. Learn more here.

Are you worried you won’t be able to pay rent this month? There are programs to help with that too. Seattle would like to help prevent homelessness. The first thing to do is call 2-1-1.
